WWII's "Kissing Sailor" Passes at Age 95

George Mendonsa, the sailor in one of the most popular photographs published by Life magazine, has passed away February 20, 2019, at age 95.
Pictured kissing Greta Zimmer Friedman , this picture by Alfred Eisenstaed was taken in Times Square, as New York celebrated the end of World War II, VJ Day, August 15, 1945.
